Sanket’s Diagnostic services extends from pathology in its laboratories to imaging like scanning, ultrasound and radiology in its Sanket-Sunsol X-ray & Imaging centers. The Sanket-Sunsol team play a vital role in supporting Zambia’s clinical care communities’ spotting health problems and informing medical interventions.

In Zambia, the health system is attempting to move from treatment to prevention, and from pure volume to value, and Sanket-Sunsol is playing a significant role in accelerating this shift including undertaking an evaluation of all 385 of the Zambian Ministry of Health’s radiological and imaging technology suites to inform the Ministry’s repair, refurbish and replace initiative. With the advent of Zambia’s National Health Insurance scheme, there is emerging an increasing strain on the Ministry’s health budgets, hence imaging must provide optimized patient outcome information at a sustainable cost.

Sanket-Sunsol is taking a leadership position in grasping the huge opportunities offered by digitalization and its integration with the Cloud: to build a strong imaging diagnostics’ business that includes

• operating both standalone and in government and private hospital X-ray and imaging centers
• delivering data services to government to better detect patterns of diseases
• providing remote diagnosis support from its pathology and radiology faculty collaborators in India
• providing repair, refurbishment and replacement of X-ray and imaging equipment
• per-test capital expenditure reimbursement structures for Sanket-Sunsol’s repair, refurbish, operate and/or replace services.

Sanket-Sunsol is one of the first integrated X-ray and imaging enterprises in Zambia as it provides consulting repair, refurbish, operate and/or replace services based on the fact that government does not have the funds available to meet the accelerating demand for X-ray and imaging services that the National Health Insurance Scheme is driving, – nor does Government have the funds to invest in Capex, expert staff and consumables inventory. In Zambia, there is a shortage of expert imaging, staff, and aging equipment; which even before the roll-out of the National Health Insurance Scheme is producing long lead times to receive reports – which in addition often have compromised quality.
